Very Best Oven Baked Chicken Breast
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons of smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of powdered onions
- 1 tablespoon of dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon of Cayenne pepper, optional
- 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 4 boneless and skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup of butter
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, paprika, chilli powder, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper.
- Put the chicken breasts in a large zippered bag and pour the dressing on the chicken. Shake the chicken to coat.
- Transfer the chicken to the refrigerator (still in the bag) and marinate for 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
- Remove the chicken from the bag and place it on a baking sheet lined with a sheet. Put 1 tablespoon of butter on each chicken breast.
- Bake the chicken in the oven for 20-30 minutes (or according to the table above) until an instant reading thermometer shows 165 degrees F.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and cover with a sheet. Rest the baked chicken breasts for 10 minutes.
- Serve immediately or cool to room temperature, carefully wrap it in a plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 36 hours.
